I paint people. Portraits from life, primarily from photographs I take myself.
To give you a sense of where it starts: $800 for an 11x14 pencil sketch of one head, $3,000 for a 12x9 oil of one head*. Anything larger, head and shoulders, three-quarter, full figure, more than one person, or complex detail like fabric and jewelry, is priced individually.

Two things worth knowing up front. I’d rather take the photograph myself, because the photo is what distinguishes the painting. If you’d rather send me one*, I need to see it first to be sure I can work from it: in focus, high resolution. Where you are doesn’t matter.
And it takes time. Six months or more, usually. That’s how long the layers need, and rushing it shows.
